The City of Miami Beach municipal elections are coming up this year, with early voting starting on October 23, and the last day to vote (AKA election day) on November 7. We will be electing a new Mayor and 3 new Commissioners. Get to know the Democrats who are running for these seats!

As Florida leads the way in all the wrong categories, including unaffordable housing and ineffective climate change mitigation measures, the Governor and the Republican-led State Legislature continue to file and pass regressive, dangerous, and cruel bills.

The recent deadly shootings in Miami Beach make it clear - more guns on the street means more danger, more shootings, and more death in Florida. The Miami Beach Democratic Club Board of Directors strongly opposes Senate Bill 150 / House Bill 543 - the "More Guns Everywhere" AKA "Permitless carry" bill. This bill would absolutely put more guns on the street. We demand that our elected representatives Senator Ileana Garcia and Representative Fabian Basabe oppose this dangerous and deeply unpopular bill.

Thank you to everyone who voted in the 2022 Run-Off election! Miami Beach has elected our endorsed candidate Laura Dominguez to serve on our City Commission, with over 60% of the vote. She is an outstanding community leader and Democrat who will also be an outstanding Commissioner.

The 2022 Primary Elections are over and we now have our Democratic slate for the big Midterm Elections this fall! During the Primary period we focused on GOTV efforts and held several events combining politics with fun to build voting muscle and Democratic enthusiasm.
