At our December membership meeting on Monday, the Miami Beach Democratic Club unanimously approved the following resolution, calling for Representative-Elect Donna Shalala to publicly support the creation of the select Committee for a Green New Deal in the U.S. House of Representatives:

Miami Beach voters are faced with an unusually long ballot this year—in addition to elected offices and judicial races, we also have to decide on twelve proposed amendments to the Florida Constitution, five county charter referendums, a school board referendum, and six ballot questions for the City of Miami Beach.

At our monthly meeting last night, the Miami Beach Democratic Club unanimously endorsed a statement condemning the Trump administration's policy of separating immigrant families and detaining immigrant children in facilities like the Tornillo Detention Center near El Paso, TX.

The Miami Beach Democratic Club voted unanimously on Monday to endorse a YES vote on Amendment 4, the citizen initiative to restore voting rights to felons who have served their sentence.
