The upcoming Miami Beach local election isn’t just about choosing leaders; it’s about choosing our values. This pivotal moment will shape the future of our city and impact everyone who lives, works, and plays here.
As voters, we face significant decisions. How do we preserve Miami Beach's unique identity? We must address pressing challenges like climate change, housing affordability, traffic congestion, and equitable public safety. Local leaders must also combat overreach from county, state, and even federal governments, which often threaten our local decision-making.
Progressive voices like mayoral candidate Kristen Rosen Gonzalez and commission candidates Daniel Ciraldo, Laura Dominguez, Monica Matteo-Salinas, Alex Fernandez, and Brian Ehrlich offer a path forward, prioritizing sustainable growth, community-driven solutions, and fairness over heavy-handed enforcement.

Whatever your vision of progressive leadership, there's likely a candidate who aligns with your priorities. Now’s the time to get engaged and prepare to vote on November 4 and again on December 9 if a runoff is needed.
We’re committed to keeping you informed. With your help, we’ll support the candidates who reflect our shared values and will work tirelessly for the future of our community.
Why This Election Matters
Balancing Our Heritage with Modern Needs
City leaders face the challenge of finding a balance between preserving Miami's cultural heritage and addressing the urgent demand for affordable housing. It's crucial to honor our history while meeting the needs of current residents.
Responding to the Climate Crisis
Miami Beach stands as a national example of urban resilience. We must protect our waterways and beaches, follow scientific guidance, and commit to environmental stewardship. Our future depends on proactive measures against climate change.
Mobility and Transit Solutions
Proposed projects like BayLink signal the city’s approach to growth. Will we embrace transit-centric development or resist perceived overdevelopment? Creative solutions are essential to maintain traffic flow and accessibility.
Choosing a Governing Style
This election gives voters the option between enforcement-focused leadership and a more inclusive, culturally aware style. A balanced approach is vital for maintaining Miami Beach’s reputation as a world-renowned destination.
