We Proudly Endorse Matteo-Salinas For Commissioner Group 1

Our Club is committed to compliance, transparency, and the values of our Party. We strive to be leaders not only in Florida, but across the country. In keeping with election laws and our bylaws, we carefully reviewed the rules before issuing any communication, which is why this message is coming now.

We are proud to announce our endorsement of Monica Matteo-Salinas as our next Commissioner for Group 1.

This announcement is also necessary because misinformation has been circulating.

To be clear:

• The Miami Beach Democratic Club did not endorse any Democrat for Group 1 in the general election.

• We did not endorse Daniel Ciraldo.

• State regulations and our own bylaws prohibit endorsing one Democrat over another when both are valid Democratic candidates.

Any claims to the contrary are false and harmful to the integrity of our Club.

Additionally, it is important for members to understand what is at stake in Group 1. Monique Pardo Pope has aligned herself with extremist, anti-LBGTQ+ and anti-choice organizations, including groups such as the Christian Family Coalition. Her positions are fundamentally opposed to core Democratic values of equality, dignity, and human rights.

We deserve leadership that reflects our values—leaders who will protect public education, support LGBTQ+ residents, defend reproductive freedom, and stand firmly for democracy. Monica Matteo-Salinas represents those values. She is grounded, principled, and committed to serving all of Miami Beach.

Let’s move forward together and elect a woman who truly reflects our community.
