Mailed Your Ballot? Track It to Make Sure Your Vote Counts for our Democrats!
You filled out your vote-by-mail ballot and sent it back. There is still one important step: track your ballot to confirm it was received and counted.
Checking your ballot’s status takes only a few minutes and can help you catch a problem while there is still time to fix it.

What Is Ballot Curing?
A missing signature or a signature that does not match the one on file can prevent your vote-by-mail ballot from being counted. Florida allows voters to correct these issues through a process called ballot curing. You must complete a cure affidavit and provide a copy of an accepted form of identification before the deadline.
Why Tracking Your Ballot Matters
Do not assume that mailing your ballot means your vote has been counted. Check its status after returning it, and keep checking until you see confirmation that it has been counted.
If your ballot has a signature issue, act immediately. Election officials must notify affected voters, but checking your status yourself can help you identify an issue sooner. Returning your ballot early also gives you more time to address any problems.
How to Fix a Signature Issue
If your ballot is flagged for a missing or mismatched signature:
Download and print the cure affidavit: beach-dems.org/fixballot.
Complete the form and sign it by hand.
Take a clear photo or scan of the completed affidavit and your accepted identification. A current Florida driver license, Florida ID card, or U.S. passport is accepted. Check the form for the full list of accepted identification and alternatives if you do not have photo ID.
Email both documents as attachments to vbmaffidavits@votemiamidade.gov. This is the address listed on Miami-Dade’s current official cure affidavit.
For the November 3, 2026 election, your completed affidavit and identification must reach the Supervisor of Elections by 5 p.m. on Thursday, November 5. Submit them as soon as you discover the issue, then check your ballot status again to confirm it has been resolved.
The Miami Beach Democrats Are Here to Help
The Miami Beach Democratic Club has a team of volunteers helping voters with ballot curing. If you need help printing the form or completing the process, contact us. We can arrange for a volunteer to bring the form to your home and assist you.
Please remind your friends, family, and neighbors to track their ballots, too. A quick check and prompt action can make the difference between a ballot with a correctable problem and a vote that counts.
Return it. Track it. Fix it if needed. Make sure your voice is heard.
