Thanks to everyone who joined our September 2021 General Meeting, especially our guest speakers, Michael Grieco, Kristen Rosen Gonzalez and Agatha Caraballo! They answered a slew of questions from the room (on Zoom of course) and you can read all about it in our minutes, or even watch the replay on our YouTube channel. Read on for a quick recap!

First, we had our Executive Board and Committee reports.

President Matthew Land talked about our upcoming events (Tuesday phone banks, canvassing), and announced that we will be holding a club special election for our open Board of Directors seat at our October meetingVice President Amanda Knapp spoke about our upcoming events at Lincoln Road and a planned Dog Park event. Secretary Janet Silverman reported that we have 104 members. Treasurer Patrick Breshike reported that we have $7800 in the bank. Then it was on to our special guests.

Our first guest was our own State Representative Michael Grieco. He gave us a detailed update on what's happening with the legislature in Tallahassee. Next up was candidate for City of Miami Beach Commission, Group 1 Kristen Rosen Gonzalez. She made the case for her candidacy and answered a ton of questions. Third up was FIU Ferre Institute for Civic Leadership Director Agatha Caraballo. She spoke about the institute's mission to promote civic leadership and engagement, social justice and inclusive civil infrastructure.
