Protect The Vote Miami Recap

What an event! If you weren't able to join us for our Protect the Vote Miami event this past Wednesday that was full of information and ways to make sure you can vote safely and protect our vote, don't worry because we got you covered.

Click here to watch the replay on our YouTube channel.

The Protect the Vote Miami event presented by the Miami Beach Democratic Club and the Miami-Dade DEC featured national election integrity advocate Jennifer Cohn who provided us with information on our election system and how Republicans have undermined elections and suppressed the vote over the years along with what we need to be on the lookout for in October and November. While this should be alarming to all of us, it's important to stay focused and make sure we are voting safely and helping others to do so as well while protecting our democracy.

Marybeth Prusher - the Voter Registration Chair with the DEC - armed us with all of the tools we need to make sure that Democrats are registered to vote, how to enroll in Vote-by-Mail and vote safely along with how to track your ballot and where to find the DEC endorsed candidates. Special thanks to Lisa Askowitz who co-chairs the Voter Registration committee for providing all of these links and answering questions in real time throughout the event! And we have ALL of this info in a handy one pager in case you missed any of this valuable information.

We wrapped up our panel with Wayne Brody and Samir Sheth from the Biden campaign (2020 Victory) who discussed voter protection efforts that are underway and how YOU can join the Voter Protection Team. This is a critical component of making sure that our vote is protected and we encourage you to join the team today!

Samir has a special ask from the Biden Campaign:

The Biden/Harris campaign's biggest and most immediate need is for registered voters in Miami-Dade to be election day and early vote poll watchers. Our second greatest need is for volunteers like you who can help us recruit other poll watchers. The campaign is up against an early-October deadline to submit our list of poll watchers to the state, and we cannot do it alone. Please fill out this form now to indicate your ability to assist with either of those vital operations or the voter assistance hotline, and the campaign will follow-up with you shortly:

If you are ready to join the team as they reach out to other potential poll watchers, you can sign up for a training and phone bank shift here:

After all is said and done and you have made sure you are prepared to vote safely and protect our vote for the General Election, we need YOU to help us reach out to Democrats across Miami-Dade County so that they are prepared. Sign up for a phone bank or other event and join us so we can protect our democracy!
