Our 2022 Election Kickoff Fundraiser was a huge success! Thank you to all who came out to Cafe Bernie last night, big thank you to everyone who donated to the cause and an extra BIG thank you to all of our Sponsors (see below)!

We had more than 30 people in attendance, with more than 60 people donating, for a total of more than $3800. We will be using these funds for phone banks, text banks, mailers, postcards, and more. Our mission is to put our Democratic candidates in the best possible position to earn the trust and the votes of voters in November.

At 7 PM we commenced our program for the night. Vice President Amanda Knapp kicked it off, thanking the crowd, explaining what our funds will be used for and how important this all will be for the coming midterm elections. Next up was Miami Beach Commissioner Kristen Rosen Gonzalez, who spoke about key topics related to the city and the importance of voting Democratic. Next was County Commissioner Eileen Higgins who gave a rousting defense of Democratic values and issued a call to action for the club, urging us to help out in the upcoming State Senate races in Miami Beach (SD-36, featuring Democrat Michael Grieco) and to the south of us (SD-37, featuring Democrat Janelle Perez), as well as the Congressional race to unseat Maria Salazar (FL-27). Also in attendance was Kevin Harris, a candidate for Congress in FL-24, who introduced himself to the crowd and explained what makes him run.
