Miami Beach Democratic Club 2020 Ballot Recommendations

With mail ballots going out today across Miami-Dade County and Early Voting starting from October 19th to November 1st and Election Day on November 3rd, the Miami Beach Democratic Club wanted to provide our members with some recommendations as they fill out their ballots.

While we do not have recommendations on everything appearing on your ballot, we have done our best to provide recommendations and resources so you can be informed when you vote. All of the candidates and state and county referendums appearing below come from endorsements made by the Miami-Dade DEC and the Miami Beach Democratic Club (MBDC).

You can view the DEC endorsements here: www.votefordemocrats.miami

In addition, the MBDC has endorsed Donna Shalala for U.S. Congress, District 27, Daniella Levine Cava for County Mayor, Eileen Higgins for County Commissioner, District 5 and Lucia Baez-Geller for School Board, District 3. Read about our endorsements here: www.miamibeachdems.org/miami_beach_dems_endorsements_2020

The DEC and the MBDC have not taken a position on either the judicial retention questions or the City of Miami Beach or Town of Surfside Referendums and we encourage you to do your own research for each of these. Ballotpedia is a great reference point to research judicial retention questions to learn more about the Judges, who appointed them and other notables. You can access Ballotpedia here:
https://ballotpedia.org

For the City of Miami Beach and Town of Surfside Referendums, this Miami Herald article does a great job explaining the details of each one:

Another good resource is the official City of Miami Beach Voter's Guide.

As you get ready to vote in the General Election, this document from the DEC is full of information where you can find out how to request your mail ballot, find early voting locations, check the status of your ballot and many others. You can access that here:
DEC Voter Information Reference Guide

We at the Miami Beach Democratic Club are here to help you out and as always, if you have any questions, please email us at [email protected] and we will do our best to connect you to resources and assist how we can.
