Miami Beach Dems Organize a Day of Action!

The Miami Beach Democratic Club is holding a day of action on Sunday to make sure Beach residents are ready to participate in the Nov. 6 election. Are you ready to help?

There is a lot of stake in the election, with races for governor, the U.S. Senate, Congress, and the Florida House and Senate to be decided, as well as a long list of state and local questions, including amendments to the state constitution.

Volunteers will be knocking on doors and making phone calls, making sure every potential voter is registered, providing information on the various ballot initiatives and on how to sign up to vote by mail. With such a long ballot, voters are being encouraged to vote early at the city’s early voting centers or to vote by mail to avoid long lines on Nov. 6.

Volunteers will also be writing postcards to voters, in support of candidates for U.S. Congress from South Florida districts.

Canvassers will work in two-hour shifts from two staging locations. Shifts begin at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Your help is crucial.  If you're interested in volunteering at our North/Mid-Beach staging location (near La Gorce Golf Course), RSVP here.

If you're interested in volunteering at our South Beach staging location (near Flamingo Park), RSVP here.

Note: If you would like to participate in our phone bank, please bring a smart phone and earbuds/headphones. Those with older-style mobile phones will need a laptop as well.

Here are some other activities the Miami Beach Democratic Club is planning for this crucial campaign:

  • Miami Beach Democratic Club meeting on Monday, Oct. 15, at 7 p.m., at the Hôtel Gaythering (1409 Lincoln Rd)
  • Voter registration events through Oct.9.
  • Phone banking events through Nov. 5
  • Virtual phone banking, available anywhere, anytime
  • Fundraising/networking events
  • Building organizing

Check Miami Beach Democratic Club Facebook page for updates.

We are fired up, but you are indispensable in this effort. Help the Miami Beach Democratic Club bring it home this November. Let the Blue Wave roll!
