Hello members of the Miami Beach Democratic Club!
The Nominating Committee wanted to let you know that we have an election of Officers and two Board of Director positions coming up on Monday, March 15, 2021. And we want you to run for office!
The positions to be voted on are
- Vice President
- Board of Directors 1 and 3
All positions are for a 2 year term. Read about our current Executive Board members here.
WE NEED YOU! Help us turn out the vote and lay the groundwork to elect Democrats locally and nationally! General responsibilities include attendance at monthly e-board meetings (currently via Zoom) and helping plan and achieve goals for the Club’s future.
To run for a position or to vote in the election you must have an active paid membership in the club by February 22, which is the day of the last general membership meeting before the election. If your membership has expired click below to renew before February 22 to participate:
The Club has made great strides in the past 3 years to grow and become more relevant to Miami Beach and to our members. Last year we helped elect Daniella Levine-Cava to become the first Woman Mayor of Miami Dade County, helped re-elect Eileen Higgins as our County Commissioner, and helped elect Lucia Baez-Geller to the Miami-Dade School Board.
2021 will be crucial as we lay the groundwork for the all important midterm elections in 2022.
If you are interested in running for a position, please email [email protected] as soon as possible to announce your interest or ask any questions you may have. As part of your application to run, please tell us which position you are seeking, why you are interested, your past involvement in Club activities and anything else you think would be relevant.
The Nominating Committee is made up of Patrick Breshike, Treasurer; Tim Johnson, Board of Director #4; Aaron Bos-Lun, Neighborhood Organizer Chair; and Tim Sprenger and Susan Goldmark, general members.
The Committee appreciates your interest and we all look forward to the Club continuing its mission of educating, exciting and representing the Miami Beach Community as we move through this year and into the next.
